Israeli media reported on Monday, March 30, that tensions have emerged between Israel and the United States amid U.S. efforts to reach a diplomatic solution with Tehran or the possibility of a ground operation against Iran.
According to Channel 12, Israeli officials have tried to persuade their American counterparts to strike Iran’s infrastructure, a move that the U.S. has so far opposed.
Last week, Israeli media had supported U.S. President Donald Trump’s stance on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and threatening attacks on Iran’s energy facilities, but after postponing the decision twice, Trump announced that he is negotiating to reach a diplomatic solution.
Channel 12 reported that behind closed doors, disagreements have arisen between U.S. and Israeli officials over military options, with Israel seeking to advance attacks on Iran’s infrastructure while the U.S. emphasizes continuing negotiations.
The network also reported on “intensive talks” between senior officials of both countries aimed at coordinating military action in the event that diplomatic channels fail.
According to Channel 12, Washington has stressed that any further military action must be fully coordinated with Israeli authorities.
