Amrullah Saleh, the former First Vice President of Afghanistan, says that Afghanistan has entered another dangerous civil war.
In a recent interview with a foreign media outlet, Saleh described the current Taliban government as entirely illegitimate and said that public opposition to the Taliban is emerging in various forms.
He also called for the release of the confidential annexes to the Doha Agreement, which, according to him, existed during the peace process. Saleh alleged that Afghanistan was handed over to the Taliban for specific purposes.
He also rejected reports of serious disagreements between the Taliban and the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), describing such reports as unfounded.
The Doha Agreement was signed between the United States and the Taliban in 2020 and established a framework for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan and the country’s future political structure.
