The Embassy of Afghanistan in Australia has announced that, following a decision by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, its operations have been suspended and the diplomatic mission has been closed.
In a statement issued by the embassy, it is stated that this decision was made by the Australian government, and as a result, the embassy has ceased its activities.
At the same time, the Government of Australia has emphasized that it will not accept any diplomats from the Taliban and will never recognize the group as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.
This development comes as, since the Taliban came to power in 2021, most Western countries have not established formal diplomatic relations with the Taliban and continue not to recognize their administration.
