Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that in his view, the U.S. proposed solution to prevent a nuclear crisis is, in practice, a “nuclear attack.” He described this approach as completely contradictory to the U.S. claim of striving for peace and preventing a nuclear crisis.
Baqaei wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, 18th of Sawr, that he considers this policy a “horrible and ridiculous absurdity.” He emphasized that such statements are in direct contradiction with U.S. claims regarding peace and stability.
These remarks were made in response to recent comments by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump had earlier told reporters that if a ceasefire with Iran fails, there might be “a big flash” from Iran an expression that has drawn widespread attention in the media and political circles.
