Local sources reported that early Thursday morning, May 14, explosions and gunfire were heard in Kabul. Three residents of Kabul said that after the explosions, the sounds of fighter jets and drones patrolling over the city were also heard.
One Kabul resident said, “Around 3:25 a.m., we heard gunfire followed by an explosion.” Another source confirmed that “two powerful explosions” occurred.
As of the time of this report, Taliban officials have not made any statements regarding the incident, and the exact details, including the cause of the explosions and any possible damage, remain unclear.
