Local sources in Kandahar province report a murder incident in which a woman is accused of shooting and killing her former husband.
According to these sources, the incident occurred on Saturday, 6 Saratan (June 27), within the second police district of Kandahar city.
A local source told media outlets that the accused woman was arrested by the Taliban following the incident and is currently under interrogation.
The source added that, during preliminary investigations, the woman stated that her ex-husband had divorced her several years ago, but continued to harass and disturb her even after their separation.
The Taliban have not yet issued an official statement regarding the details of the incident, the possible motive, or the progress of the investigation.
This incident comes amid ongoing concerns about domestic violence and the lack of effective mechanisms to protect victims of abuse in Afghanistan.
