The Chief Minister of the Taliban, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, in a message sent to the seminar titled “Afghanistan and the Region: Opportunities and Challenges,” stated that Afghanistan is currently independent in economic, political, and military terms and can effectively utilize the opportunities arising from its strategic location.
He said that for the country’s development, it is essential to correctly identify opportunities and challenges and make appropriate decisions based on them. He once again reiterated the claim of nationwide security and emphasized that Afghanistan is now an independent country in every respect.
According to Mullah Hassan Akhund, this independence creates the conditions for decisions to be made in the interest of the country and its people decisions that would protect Afghanistan from problems, crises, and potential threats, and guide it toward lasting peace and development.
He also stated that Afghanistan has extensive capacities and opportunities in the areas of regional connectivity, trade, transit, energy, and investment. In his view, the expansion of economic cooperation among regional countries and the development of energy transmission projects could turn Afghanistan into a key hub of regional cooperation.
The message also emphasized strengthening relations based on mutual respect, good neighborliness, economic cooperation, and balanced ties with neighboring and regional countries, and called for the further expansion of trade relations between Afghanistan and the countries of the region.
