The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has announced that over the past three days, 373 Afghan citizens who had been imprisoned in Pakistan were released and returned to Afghanistan.
According to a statement from the ministry, these individuals had been arrested and jailed in Pakistan due to a lack of legal documents. The statement added that after registration and receiving humanitarian assistance, they were transferred to their home areas.
The statement further noted that 296 of them returned through the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar province, while another 77 entered the country through Spin Boldak in Kandahar province.
This comes as the arrest and deportation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan continues.
According to collected statistics, during the month of Sawr alone, 2,283 Afghan refugees who had been imprisoned in Pakistan returned to Afghanistan after being released.
