Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications at the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture, has stated in response to Pakistani airstrikes that the Taliban will respond to these attacks “at an appropriate time.”
Speaking at a capacity-building seminar for journalists in Parwan Province, he described the Pakistani airstrikes as an attempt to undermine what he referred to as the Taliban’s “achievements” and activities.
Mohajer Farahi said that Pakistan is seeking to create challenges for the Taliban’s performance through such attacks. He did not provide further details regarding the timing or nature of a potential response.
Last night, parts of the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar were targeted in Pakistani airstrikes.
The Taliban has stated that 36 civilians, including women and children, were killed and 163 others injured in these attacks. Pakistani authorities have not yet issued a response regarding these figures.
