The 16th International Scientific Conference of the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC), focusing on “Improving Health Outcomes through Research and Collaborative Partnerships,” was held in Kabul.
Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services at the Ministry of Public Health, emphasized the importance of research in strengthening the country’s health system and stressed the need to provide high-quality and equitable healthcare services to all citizens.
Mr. Haqqani said that every health worker, hospital, and health institution should make quality an integral part of its daily activities, and that healthcare services must be provided to all citizens equitably and to a high standard.
According to the statistics presented, 20 years have passed since the establishment of the institute in Afghanistan. During this period, more than 4,000 health workers have received training in various fields. In addition, 93 doctors, including 16 female doctors, have graduated from the institute’s specialist training programs.
