According to a resolution by the Taliban’s Higher Education Ministry leadership council, a decision has been made to abolish and suspend the faculties of law and political science at all private universities.
The resolution states that the decision was made due to the “insufficient number of students and lack of employment opportunities.”
Under the resolution, the decision is to be implemented immediately at private universities, while the faculties of law and political science at public universities are also expected to be gradually abolished.
No further details have so far been provided on how the decision will be implemented or what will happen to students currently enrolled in these faculties.
