The Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce says a technical committee comprising representatives from relevant government institutions will be established to address the challenges faced by fresh fruit exporters and facilitate the export process.
The ministry said that a coordination meeting was held on Monday, chaired by Taliban Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi, to discuss the challenges facing fresh fruit exports and ways to support exporters.
The meeting focused on the obstacles hindering fresh fruit exports, possible solutions, and measures to support exporters.
Nooruddin Azizi said that exports are among the key priorities of the Taliban government and that existing obstacles to exports must be removed.
According to the ministry, the technical committee will develop a comprehensive plan to address the challenges facing fresh fruit exports and support exporters. The plan will then be presented at a Cabinet meeting for consideration.
The move comes as Afghan traders face a range of challenges every year during the fresh fruit export season, including transportation, customs procedures, marketing, and the shipment of agricultural products.
