The Taliban destroyed nearly 14 tonnes of narcotics and human medicines in Kandahar.

The Taliban’s media office in Kandahar has announced that 13,870 kilograms of various types of narcotics were burned in the province in the presence of a delegation. According to the office, the drugs had been seized during various operations over the past three months.

According to information provided by the Taliban, the destroyed narcotics included opium, hashish, “K” tablets, and other illicit substances. They claimed that the drugs had been transported into Afghanistan from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Abdul Ghafar Mahmood, head of the Taliban’s sub-customs offices in Nimroz province, said that their mobile teams had seized 800 kilograms of human medicines that were being smuggled into Afghanistan through Pakistan.

Taliban officials in Kandahar and Nimroz have not provided details regarding the identities or number of individuals arrested in connection with the trafficking of narcotics and medicines.
