The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has announced that private security company guards are not allowed to use military-style uniforms or equipment while performing their duties and carrying weapons. According to the ministry’s statement, this decision was made based on a resolution from the Leadership Council.
Under this directive, all guards are required to wear regular, appropriate civilian clothing while on duty. The purpose of this measure is to distinguish between official military forces and private security personnel.
The Ministry of Interior has warned that individuals who violate this directive will face legal consequences. However, no further details have been provided regarding monitoring procedures or the types of punishments.
Some analysts view this decision as part of the Taliban administration’s efforts to increase control over the security sector and prevent parallel activities in this field.
