Iranian media have reported that two people were killed and 10 others injured after a vehicle carrying Afghan nationals overturned in Kerman Province.

According to the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA), citing Reza Fallah, head of the Kerman Red Crescent Society, the incident occurred on Monday morning, September 1, in the area of the Jopar–Baghin road in the province.

Fallah said that after receiving reports of the accident, two Red Crescent search-and-rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival and assessment, rescuers determined that the incident had resulted in a total of 12 casualties, including two fatalities and 10 injuries.

The head of the Kerman Red Crescent Society added that rescue personnel recovered the bodies of the two deceased individuals from the vehicle and handed them over to the relevant authorities. The injured were transported by emergency medical teams to healthcare facilities for treatment.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the vehicle’s overturning or the current medical condition of those injured.
