Local sources report that in the Kalakan district of Kabul, a man named Qasim has killed his 14-year-old daughter using a shovel.
According to the sources, the incident occurred two days ago, and the individual reportedly surrendered himself to the Taliban following the event.
The victim’s family stated that the incident took place after the girl was accused of speaking with another boy while returning home from a religious school in the village.
Sources add that the father, after hearing the allegation, threatened to kill his daughter and later, during the night while she was asleep, carried out the killing.
Relatives say that subsequent investigations revealed the girl had no contact with any boy, and the information provided to the father was false.
The Taliban have not yet issued any official statement regarding the incident.
Human rights activists say that such incidents are often rooted in harmful traditions, a culture of violence, and weak rule of law, which in many cases result in women and girls becoming victims.
