Reports from Yakawlang District of Bamyan Province indicate that a teenage boy, Mohammad Amin, was killed while attempting to prevent the abduction of his young sister.
According to local sources, the incident occurred two nights ago when four armed men allegedly entered the family’s home with the intention of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl. It is reported that Mohammad Amin resisted the attackers in an effort to protect his sister and prevent them from carrying out their plan.
Sources say that he sustained severe injuries during the confrontation and later succumbed to his wounds. Reports indicate that his resistance ultimately prevented the assailants from achieving their objective.
Mohammad Amin was reportedly the only son of his family and was regarded as the greatest hope for the future of his impoverished household. His death has deeply saddened residents of the area.
Local sources claim that, in recent years, insecurity and weak law enforcement have enabled a number of individuals with criminal backgrounds to continue acts of intimidation and violence in various regions.
The incident comes amid growing public concern following a separate tragedy in Narang District of Kunar Province, where an eight-year-old girl was reportedly killed in an extremely brutal manner by unidentified armed individuals. The case has further heightened fears and concerns among local communities.
