Local sources have reported an armed attack on the vehicle of Mawlavi Asghar Safdari, the former head of orphanages and current adviser to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Taliban government, in Kabul city. The report has not yet been officially confirmed or denied by relevant authorities.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to the media, the incident took place at around 5:33 p.m. yesterday. The source claimed that Mawlavi Safdari was seriously injured in the attack and was urgently transported to a medical facility following the incident.
As of the publication of this report, further details regarding the nature of the attack, the identity of the assailants, and Mawlavi Asghar Safdari’s current condition have not been made public. Taliban officials have also not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
Mawlavi Asghar Safdari is a known Taliban figure and a resident of Deh Salah district in Baghlan province. He previously served as the head of the General Directorate of Orphanages and currently works as an adviser at the Taliban government’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
