Following an explosion and fire at the PBF Chalmette oil refinery in the state of Louisiana, USA, a large column of smoke has been seen rising into the sky over the area. Local U.S. media have reported that the incident occurred at the refinery located in the Chalmette area.
According to local authorities, all employees of the refinery have been accounted for following the explosion, and so far no reports of deaths or injuries have been released.
The responsible officials have not yet announced the cause of the explosion, and no further details about the extent of possible damage are available.
