Hayatullah Mohajir Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications at the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture, has stated that, for the first time in Afghanistan’s history, what he described as “centers of evil and corruption” in various parts of Pakistan have been targeted.
According to a statement released on Wednesday (July 8) by the Taliban’s media office for Panjshir Province, Farahi made the remarks during a seminar held in Panjshir to provide ideological training for journalists.
Farahi said that Pakistan has repeatedly violated Afghanistan’s airspace, adding that the Taliban responded to those actions at an appropriate time. He claimed that operations targeting what he called “centers of evil and corruption” in Islamabad, Peshawar, and Balochistan were unprecedented in the country’s history and demonstrated the strengthening of Afghanistan’s defensive capabilities.
Farahi also emphasized the role of the media, urging journalists to stand against what he described as “negative propaganda and rumors” and to fulfill their responsibility in promoting national unity and strengthening the “Islamic system.”
According to information provided by the Taliban, Pakistan has carried out multiple attacks on Afghanistan since 2022. The Taliban have also claimed that, in response, they used drones to strike selected targets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Balochistan.
