Amir Mohammad Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Director of Industry and Commerce in Balkh, says that, based on a special decree by Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah, 20,000 jeribs of land have been allocated in the province to support industrialists and establish industrial parks.
The Taliban-controlled national radio reported on Monday, 2 Sonbola, quoting Muttaqi as saying that the distribution of the land will begin next week.
Muttaqi has urged industrialists seeking to obtain land to submit their applications through the relevant authorities in Kabul in accordance with legal procedures and to follow up on their requests through the administrative chain of command. He said that afterward, industrialists should refer to the Balkh Directorate of Industry and Commerce.
The Balkh Director of Industry and Commerce claimed that significant progress has been made in the industrial sector in recent years, but provided no further details about these developments.
Mullah Hibatullah has previously ordered the allocation of land to industrialists in several provinces for the establishment of industrial parks. However, so far, no significant progress has been reported regarding the practical use of the allocated land or the construction of the industrial parks.
