Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that an Iranian delegation held talks with the U.S. side through Qatari mediation on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Tehran presented its demands during these contacts. According to him, Iran’s demands include an end to the war, the cessation of U.S. military actions, the lifting of the naval blockade and economic pressure, and the release of Iran’s frozen assets.
Meanwhile, Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, also confirmed that he had held talks with Iranian representatives through intermediaries on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Witkoff said that the talks between the two sides, conducted through intermediaries, were detailed and substantive.
