Mahmood Khan Achakzai, leader of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, has expressed concern over the prevailing mistrust and political suspicions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, saying that it is essential for the two countries to overcome these challenges.
In his latest remarks, Achakzai said there are deep-rooted suspicions between Afghanistan and Pakistan and expressed hope that the current atmosphere would change, paving the way for mutual trust between the two nations.
Referring to Afghanistan’s historical legacy, Achakzai stated that the country has witnessed the defeat of numerous major powers throughout history. According to him, from Alexander the Great to subsequent invaders, every power that entered Afghanistan with ill intentions ultimately met with failure.
Addressing Pakistan and Iran, he warned both countries against making miscalculations regarding Afghanistan. Achakzai said that any country that seeks to deal with Afghanistan through pressure or interference risks facing the same fate as previous powers.
The leader of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party also said that while he has a relationship of state with Pakistan, he has a relationship of homeland with Afghanistan. He reaffirmed his support for good relations, mutual respect, and cooperation between the two countries.
