Abdul Latif Mansour, the Taliban’s minister of rural rehabilitation and development, says Afghans must be prepared to make any sacrifice necessary to safeguard the country’s independence and the Islamic system, and must not allow domestic or foreign hostile elements to once again threaten Afghanistan’s independence, territorial integrity, and political system.
According to the Taliban’s Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Mansour said that no domestic or foreign “enemy” should be given an opportunity to harbor “malicious and hostile intentions” toward Afghanistan, its people, or its government.
He stressed that domestic and foreign factors that have threatened Afghanistan’s independence and territorial integrity in the past must be carefully examined. According to him, preventing the recurrence of such threats requires a struggle “with one’s life, wealth, words, and pen.”
Mansour described the Taliban’s system and the security currently prevailing in the country as among the “great blessings of God,” saying that this situation had been achieved at the cost of much bloodshed and suffering. He therefore urged Afghans, in his words, to work to preserve these blessings.
He added that preserving Afghanistan’s independence and ensuring the continuity and consolidation of the Islamic system requires working with “complete sincerity and firm determination.”
The Taliban’s Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development also said that the country should make maximum use of its existing security, material and spiritual resources, and available capacities in the areas of reconstruction, the economy, trade, industry, and defense. According to him, these resources should also be utilized to ensure the continuity and consolidation of the Islamic system.
