Noorullah Noori, the Taliban’s Minister of Borders, Tribes and Tribal Affairs, has said that since returning to power, the Taliban government has resolved the “problems and grievances” that, according to him, officials of the previous republican government had failed to address.
Speaking on Wednesday at a gathering in Shah Joi district of Zabul province, attended by tribal elders, religious scholars, and local officials, Noori said: “After the victory, we resolved the problems left from the period of occupation that they had failed to resolve over 20 years.”
He did not provide further details about these “problems,” but claimed that the Taliban government has succeeded in addressing various challenges.
Noori also described the management of returning migrants and refugees as an example of the Taliban’s “prudent policies” and called on people to maintain unity and brotherhood among themselves.
This comes as security was considered one of the biggest challenges during the previous republican government. However, analysts and many officials from that period have identified the Taliban as the main cause of insecurity.
