In Kabul, Pakistan’s ambassador, Ubaid-ur-Rahman Nizamani, has urged the Taliban to take practical measures against the “terrorist threats” emerging from Afghan territory.
He made these remarks at an event marking the first anniversary of the Pakistan-India conflict. He stated that Pakistan seeks peace, but this aspiration should not be interpreted as weakness.
According to a statement from the Pakistani embassy in Kabul, Nizamani said that Islamabad is committed to fraternal relations with Afghanistan, but serious and practical steps must be taken to prevent threats originating from Afghan soil against Pakistan.
The Taliban have not yet responded to these remarks.
