Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says that now is the best time to reach an agreement, arguing that Iran currently has cohesion, strength, and unity.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, 17 Asad, Pezeshkian said: “In my view, now is the best time for an agreement, because there is cohesion, strength, and unity in the country.”
He added that if the other side takes steps toward reaching an agreement, Iran is also prepared to move forward in coordination with it. However, he stressed that Iran would not agree to a deal under pressure or coercion.
The Iranian president said that war cannot continue indefinitely and must eventually come to an end. He stressed that problems cannot be resolved through war alone and that efforts must be made on various fronts to achieve peace.
Pezeshkian also said that Iran is seeking to pursue the path to peace based on the issues discussed in the memorandum of understanding.
Meanwhile, Hamidreza Haji-Babayi, deputy speaker of Iran’s parliament, rejected the possibility of an understanding between Iran and the United States in an interview with an Iranian media outlet, saying that Iran would never reach an understanding with the United States.
Haji-Babayi claimed that the United States wants Iran eliminated in order to implement the “Greater Israel” project.
