The construction of the “Doarahi Hairatan” cargo terminal in Balkh province will soon begin, with a cost of over 850 million Afghanis. The Transport and Aviation Department has announced that this project will be implemented at Hairatan Port, an important gateway in northern Afghanistan that plays a key role in the transit of goods between Afghanistan and Central Asian countries.
Officials have stated that the goal of this project is to better regulate the process of goods transfer and to provide more facilities for loading and unloading cargo. According to them, this terminal could help reduce some of the existing problems in transit and transportation.
Hairatan Port is considered one of the country’s important sources of customs revenue. However, so far, no specific details have been provided by the Taliban administration regarding the exact opening date of this terminal or how it will be managed.
