Summary

The National Development Company (NDC), which operates under the control of the Taliban, says the Ghori Cement Plant in Baghlan Province produces at least 700 tonnes of cement every 24 hours.

Nabiullah Arghandiwal, the company’s spokesperson, said that 750 people are currently employed directly at the two Ghori cement plants.

According to Arghandiwal, construction of a third Ghori cement plant is also underway. He added that once the new facility is completed, the combined daily production capacity of the Ghori cement plants will increase to nearly 6,000 tonnes, while the number of employees is also expected to rise.

According to the National Development Company, the expansion of production capacity will help meet the country’s cement demand and create more employment opportunities.
