The Taliban have announced that, as part of efforts to support farmers and facilitate agricultural activities, they have manufactured a number of agricultural machines through the National Development Corporation (NDC) and introduced them to the market.
The corporation, operating under the name National Development Corporation, stated today, Saturday, June 6, on X (formerly Twitter), that its newly launched products include threshers, laser land-leveling machines, seedling transplanting machines, and various types of plows.
According to the corporation, these machines are priced lower than comparable foreign products and are now available for both wholesale and retail purchase. The company further stated that the equipment is backed by a one-year official warranty and after-sales support services.
The National Development Corporation has called on government agencies, ministries, traders, agricultural companies, organizations, and farmers to visit its headquarters in Kabul for further information, product inspections, and the conclusion of purchase agreements.
However, the statement does not clarify whether these agricultural machines are manufactured domestically in Afghanistan or imported from abroad.
The National Development Corporation was originally established during the previous republican government to implement state-led construction and development projects. Its entry into the production and sale of agricultural machinery marks the first known venture of its kind. The corporation had previously claimed to have launched bus and automobile manufacturing initiatives, although no clear information has since been released regarding the continuity or progress of those projects.
