Summary

In Balkh province, ten industrial factories have commenced operations in various production sectors, including the manufacturing of synthetic cotton, slippers, plastic utensils, and other products.

Abdul Ghaffar Haqqani, the head of the Balkh Textile Factory under the Taliban administration, says that millions of dollars have been invested in these factories, providing employment opportunities for dozens of people.

Meanwhile, a number of investors in Balkh have called on the Taliban to address existing challenges related to electricity supply, providing suitable locations for factories, and the international marketing of locally produced goods, in order to create better conditions for industrial growth.

Officials of the textile factory also say they are working to use the income generated from these newly established factories to restart the main Balkh Textile Factory, which has remained closed for nearly 30 years.
