The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that Nouruddin Azizi, the Minister of this Ministry, has met with representatives of the fuel suppliers for Ariana Afghan Airlines and Kam Air. The meeting was held to discuss the situation regarding the fuel supply for flights.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues such as the shortage of aircraft fuel, the rising prices, and the challenges faced by fuel suppliers and airlines. The impact of these challenges on both domestic and international flights was also addressed.
According to the report, after hearing the views of both sides, the Minister of Industry and Commerce emphasized controlling the price of flight tickets within the country and called for special attention to the conditions of flights as the Hajj season approaches. This issue has been highlighted as a priority during this period.
At the end of the meeting, the importance of addressing the problems faced by fuel suppliers and preventing a further shortage of aircraft fuel was emphasized by the responsible authorities, in order to avoid further increases in ticket prices and to ensure passenger satisfaction. It was also stated that necessary arrangements would be made for the transportation of Hajj pilgrims in the coming days.
These developments come at a time when increasing regional tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, as well as concerns about the potential disruption of energy transportation routes, especially the Strait of Hormuz, could impact the fuel market in the region. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important oil transit chokepoints in the world, and any disruption there could affect fuel prices and access to fuel in the region, including Afghanistan.
