At a meeting of the Economic Commission chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, discussions were held on reducing unemployment in the country and ensuring the effective implementation of economic projects.

The meeting also reviewed proposals submitted by the governors of the seven zones, aimed at addressing regional economic challenges and accelerating development initiatives.

According to the Economic Commission, participants exchanged views on creating additional facilities for exports and imports, expanding the refining of crude petroleum products, and broadening the list of authorized pharmaceutical items imported into the country.

Other key topics of discussion included expediting the approval of industrial zone plans, regulating and coordinating the leasing process of state-owned lands, and addressing the increase in the prices of exported meat products while expanding export opportunities.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office stated that the necessary decisions and resolutions were adopted on all issues discussed during the meeting.

The meeting comes at a time when unemployment and poverty levels remain high across the country, with many citizens continuing to express concerns over worsening economic conditions.
