The Taliban’s disaster management authority has issued a one-week forecast on weather conditions and natural disaster risks, warning of the potential for flash floods in the eastern parts of Kunar and Nuristan provinces.
According to information released by the authority on Thursday, moderate rainfall is expected in eastern and northeastern provinces of Afghanistan from 22 to 28 Asad. Overall, however, weather conditions across the country are expected to be somewhat drier than normal.
The authority said that over the past 30 days, most parts of Afghanistan have received rainfall in line with seasonal averages. In the eastern regions, rainfall totals have ranged from 25 to 100 millimeters, with some areas recording even higher amounts.
