The report states that the fire broke out late at night, after which the nightclub was engulfed in thick smoke, leaving many people unable to escape safely. Officials said the lack of emergency exit routes was one of the main factors contributing to the high number of casualties.
Thai authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, while rescue teams continue their operations at the scene.
