Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee has announced that Afghanistan became Uzbekistan’s third-largest export destination during the first six months of 2026. According to the published figures, the value of Uzbekistan’s exports to Afghanistan reached $961.5 million during this period.
In the ranking, Russia was in first place, with exports of approximately $2.4 billion, followed by China in second place with $1.4 billion. Afghanistan ranked third, with exports totaling $961.5 million, making it Uzbekistan’s third-largest export market in the first half of the year.
According to the data, Afghanistan surpassed several major markets for Uzbek exports, including Kazakhstan, France, and Turkey. The figure also highlights Afghanistan’s growing importance among Uzbekistan’s key trading partners.
Trade between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan has continued to expand in recent years. A significant share of Uzbekistan’s exports to Afghanistan consists of electricity, food products, construction materials, and various industrial goods.
The increase in Uzbekistan’s exports to Afghanistan comes as the two countries have focused in recent years on strengthening economic ties and expanding bilateral trade. The latest figures from Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee place Afghanistan among the country’s most important export markets.
