Afghan national wushu athlete Mohammad Khalid Hotak won the bronze medal in the 70 kg weight category at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Asian Wushu Championship.
The achievement marks Afghanistan’s first-ever medal in wushu at the Asian championship level, representing a significant milestone for the country’s sporting delegation.
The championship, held under the framework of the SCO Asian Wushu Championship, brought together athletes from various Asian countries to compete at the continental level.
Hotak’s bronze medal is widely regarded as the beginning of a new chapter for Afghan wushu, highlighting the sport’s growing presence and potential on the international stage.
