In the continuation of the “Omid Watan” National Twenty20 Cricket Cup in Kunduz province, the Amo Zone team defeated the Band-e-Amir Zone team by five wickets in the seventh match of the tournament and, with four points, moved to the top of the standings.
At the start of the match, the Amo team won the toss and decided to bowl first. Band-e-Amir scored 139 runs in their 20 overs, losing seven wickets. Among their players, Haroon Khan was the top performer with 61 runs.
In Amo’s bowling, Hafiz Zadran took four wickets and Faheem Qasemi took three wickets, playing a key role in restricting the opposition. At the end of the match, Hafiz Zadran was named the Player of the Match.
In the second innings, the Amo team successfully chased the target in 18.1 overs, losing five wickets, and secured victory. In this innings, Mohammad Ikram scored 43 runs and Adam Khan scored 42 runs, contributing the most to their team’s success.
The tournament features teams from Spin Ghar, Amo, Best, Mes Aynak, and Band-e-Amir, each representing a different zone. In the standings, Amo, Mes Aynak, and Best each have four points, but due to differences in run rate, they occupy the first to third positions respectively, while Band-e-Amir and Spin Ghar are placed lower in the rankings.
