Local sources in Herat province have reported the discovery of a woman’s body in the Mehتاب (Mahtab) Road area of the city. According to these sources, the body was found inside a residential house.
The woman’s family has claimed that she took her own life by hanging; however, this claim has not yet been officially confirmed, and preliminary investigations are currently underway.
Local sources also stated that Taliban forces have arrested the woman’s husband in connection with the incident for further investigation. As of now, Taliban authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the details of the case.
Preliminary information suggests that the woman had been facing domestic issues, and it is believed that these circumstances may have played a role in the incident. However, the exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
The incident comes amid a reported rise in cases of suicide and domestic violence in parts of Afghanistan in recent years, raising widespread concern among human rights organizations and social activists.
