The Taliban’s media office for Parwan province has reported that two people have died, 20 homes have been destroyed, and the Parwan–Bamyan highway has been closed to traffic following heavy rainfall and flash floods on Friday (1 Asad).
In a statement, the Taliban’s media office said that floods occurred in the Sardar-e Shatarsher, Darazgard, and Fanduqistan areas of Parwan province. According to initial information, the incident claimed the lives of two people and damaged dozens of homes.
The statement added that travel along the Parwan–Bamyan highway has been suspended due to flooding and the accumulation of mud, while cleanup operations are underway to reopen the road. Authorities have urged drivers and travelers to avoid using the route until further notice.
Officials said that assessments and investigations are continuing to determine the exact number of casualties and the extent of financial losses.
Meanwhile, since last night, heavy rains and flooding have also caused financial damage to residents in several provinces, including Kabul, Khost, Maidan Wardak, Paktika, Logar, and Panjshir.
