Summary

According to the “Afghanistan Freedom Front,” the group’s forces carried out an attack last night on a Taliban base in the Keshm district of Badakhshan province.

In a press release, the front stated that the operation took place at approximately 10:30 p.m., resulting in casualties and material damage to Taliban forces, although it did not provide precise figures regarding the number of casualties.

Meanwhile, local sources have confirmed the incident, stating that the attack was carried out using a hand grenade.

On the other hand, the Taliban have not yet issued an official response regarding the incident.

This comes as the Secretary-General of the United Nations, in his latest quarterly report on the situation in Afghanistan based on findings from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) informed the Security Council that between February 1 and April 30 of this year, anti-Taliban groups claimed responsibility for 18 attacks across 10 provinces, 16 of which were verified.
