In Panjshir, several informed local sources said on Tuesday that following the explosion on Monday, the Taliban arrested more than 30 local residents in the Abdullahkhel valley of the mentioned district. According to the sources, some of those detained have since been released, but the exact number of detainees remains unclear.
The sources add that after the incident, Taliban presence in the area increased and the security situation remains tense.
On the other hand, “Zarghoon Bahir,” which is reported to be affiliated with Amrullah Saleh, the former Vice President of Afghanistan, stated that forces of the “Zarghoon Unit” linked to this group targeted and destroyed a vehicle carrying 10 Taliban members in the Abdullahkhel valley of Panjshir during an operation.
The group also released a video claiming that the vehicle was transporting forces to a base in the village of Manjansto. The published video shows a Taliban ranger vehicle being blown up by a mine explosion.
Local sources said that the explosion occurred near the village volleyball field, and at the time of the incident, several young people were playing there.
According to reports, after the incident, Taliban sent additional forces to the area and arrested many of those same local youths. A resident of the valley said that Taliban forces are visible on the roads and the situation is tense.
The sources further state that among the detainees, two individuals identified as Shirzaman and Norizaman have been named, both of whom are brothers. Shirzaman is a former military member and Norizaman is a teacher.
A source close to the Resistance Front said that the detainees have been transferred for further investigation to the district police headquarters and the provincial police headquarters of Panjshir.
The Taliban have not yet made any official statement regarding this incident or the status of the detainees.
