Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Tehran is reviewing the U.S. response to its latest proposal regarding negotiations between the two countries.

Al Jazeera reported on Thursday, May 21, that Iran and the United States are exchanging messages over the text of a proposed ceasefire document, with Pakistan acting as a mediator.

According to the report, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, said: “Based on Iran’s original 14-point text, the exchange of messages has taken place in several stages.”

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also emphasized that Tehran has received the views and responses of the United States and is currently reviewing them.

Esmaeil Baghaei made these remarks at the same time as the recent visit of Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, to Tehran.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is playing a mediating role in talks between Tehran and Washington, and within this framework, Mohsin Naqvi has visited Iran for the second time in recent days.
