According to an official statement, three major electricity projects have been launched in Faryab province with a budget of more than 1.12 billion Afghanis.
These projects include the extension of a 110-kilovolt line from the central Faryab substation to the districts of Balcheragh and Ghurziwan, the construction of a 110/20-kilovolt substation in Balcheragh, and the installation of transformers in Balcheragh and Pashtunkot.
The inauguration ceremony of these projects was held on Tuesday with the presence of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Taliban administration.
Officials have stated that the funding for these projects has been sourced from the internal budget and that their implementation has been entrusted to the private sector.
Authorities have promised that with the completion of these projects, the electricity shortage in Faryab province will be reduced over the next three years.
At the same time, some residents of Faryab emphasized that transparent oversight of the projects and the fulfillment of commitments are crucial to gaining the trust of the people.
