Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights activist, Malala Yousafzai, has stated that the international community must increase its efforts to support Afghan women and girls and take practical steps to recognize “gender apartheid.”
She made these remarks after meeting with Scotland’s First Minister, Humza Yousaf. Malala emphasized that the situation of Afghan women requires urgent global action, and mere statements are not enough.
She urged countries to adopt a coordinated and unified stance to protect human rights, so that Afghan women and girls can be freed from the ongoing restrictions.
