Morocco is currently undertaking one of the world’s largest sporting infrastructure projects: a 115,000-seat stadium that, upon completion, is expected to rank among the largest football stadiums globally.
The stadium, named the “Grand Stade de Casablanca,” will be constructed in the city of Casablanca. The objective of this ambitious project is to enhance the country’s sporting infrastructure and strengthen Morocco’s capacity to host major international competitions and large-scale events.
According to preliminary estimates, the project is expected to cost approximately 500 million US dollars. This substantial investment forms part of Morocco’s broader strategy to reinforce its position on the international sporting and football stage.
Morrocan officials hope that, once completed, the stadium will significantly expand the country’s ability to host major continental and global tournaments, positioning Morocco as a key hub for international sporting events in the region and beyond.
Experts suggest that the construction of such a facility could have a significant impact not only on sports development, but also on tourism, investment, and employment generation.
