A large fire broke out on Thursday evening in the Tangi Logar area of Kabul’s District 8, destroying several timber shops and causing significant financial losses.
According to local sources, the blaze engulfed a large section of the area’s timber market. Videos circulating from the scene show the scale of the fire and thick plumes of smoke rising above the market.
As of the time of reporting, the cause of the fire had not been determined. Authorities have also not released any official figures on the extent of the damage or whether there were any casualties.
Officials are expected to provide further details on the cause of the fire, the extent of the losses, and the findings of their investigation once technical assessments have been completed.
