Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, responded on Sunday, 11 Asad, to the announcement of the start of a military operation by the United Afghanistan Front, led by Sami Sadat. In response to a question regarding the activities of the front, he said that anti-Taliban groups’ activities are limited to social media and the dissemination of propaganda.
Mujahid claimed that, according to him, these groups do not have any active presence inside Afghanistan. He added that the Taliban are not currently facing such a phenomenon in the country and stated that no new front or organized group is operating inside Afghanistan at present.
The Taliban spokesperson, however, said that it cannot be denied that such groups existed in the past. According to him, these movements previously operated as large organizations and used ethnic, linguistic, religious, and racial differences to establish and expand their structures.
Mujahid further alleged that these groups are now operating from outside Afghanistan, adopting new names and titles, in an attempt to create insecurity in the country or portray Afghanistan as unstable. He added that these groups are based abroad and continue their activities from outside the country.
The Taliban spokesperson also claimed that these groups maintain camps outside Afghanistan and receive financial support from certain intelligence organizations. He further alleged that members of these movements cooperate with various intelligence agencies. These remarks were made without Mujahid providing any evidence or documentation to support the claims.
