Local Taliban officials in Zabul say that at least seven people were injured after a passenger bus collided with a tanker truck on the Kabul–Kandahar highway.
Zabihullah Jawhar, spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Zabul, told Bakhtar News Agency that the incident occurred on Monday night, 2 Sunbula, in the Jaldak area of Shah Safa district.
According to him, a “580” passenger bus collided with a tanker truck. No further details were provided about how the accident occurred.
Jawhar added that at least seven people were injured in the incident, two of whom are reported to be in critical condition. No further information has been released about the identities or condition of the other injured passengers.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined. However, in many similar traffic incidents, failure to observe traffic regulations and excessive speed are cited as major causes of road accidents.
