The group known as the Resistance Front, one of the groups opposing the Taliban, has claimed that during two separate operations in Herat province, it killed one Taliban fighter and wounded five others.
According to a statement released by the group, in the early days of the month of Jawza, three Taliban members were injured in a targeted attack near the First Brigade of the Al-Farooq Corps in the Injil district of Herat.
The statement also said that on the same day, in another attack in the Ziarat area along the Pashtun Zarghun road in Guzara district of Herat, one Taliban member was killed and two others were wounded.
The Resistance Front says that no civilians or members of the group were harmed in either of the two incidents.
The group claims responsibility for carrying out targeted attacks in different parts of Afghanistan and says these actions are being conducted for what it calls the liberation of the people against the “illegitimate rule.”
So far, the Taliban have not commented to the media regarding these attacks.
